Pedro Antonio Vicente Torres was born in Elche, Spain, in 1971. His artistic career begins at a key moment, at the start of the 21st century, when a strong reaction against the avant-gardes was taking place. With an astonishing expressionism, Pedro Antonio Vicente creates highly varied paintings through which he tries to surpass the model itself. He started in 2003, and those years were very hard because of his psychic disability, through which he learnt to paint in an unconscious, tense and aggressive state. He painted his first canvas at the beginning of 2004. Some critics note an aggressiveness and a strength of colour in many of his paintings. NEOPOST EXPRESSIONISM is what has gradually become ART IMPERIAL PAINTING, born out of the influences of the 19th and 20th century pictorial style.
